Downsizing: two homes
Two homes, one plan and one person to call.
A move to something smaller means two cleans: the house you're leaving, after the movers, and the new place, before the boxes arrive. We plan both around the moving date so the new home is ready the day you are.
What's included
The new place, before move-in: kitchen cabinets and drawers, bathrooms, floors and windows
The old house, after the movers: the same list, top to bottom
A list agreed in advance for each home
Both cleans booked around the move and the closing
One signed list and one quote for the two

Before you book
The price, the extras and the ground rules
What moves the price
Two quotes, one for each home, written together so you can compare them. A smaller place is quicker, and the quote says by how much.
Quoted separately
Oven, refrigerator and cabinets inside, if you want them on the list
Wall and window washing
A second visit if the movers run over
Rooms in the old house that aren't empty yet
Before we arrive
The moving date, the closing date and any inspection
Access to both homes by lockbox code or a person
The community's move-in rules, if it has them: send us a copy
Utilities on in both homes
What we don't do
Pack, move or unpack
Arrange movers, donation pickup or storage
Handle medications or medical equipment
Decide what goes to the new home
The visit
How the visit goes
- 01First call
Step 1: Plan both dates
Fannie writes the two dates side by side with you: the move, and the closing or hand-over.
- 02Before the move
Step 2: The new place first
We clean it before the boxes arrive, so unpacking starts on a clean shelf.
- 03Moving day
Step 3: The movers
We stay out of the way. Fannie checks in by text on the day.
- 04After the move
Step 4: The old house
Cleaned after the movers to the signed list, with a final walk-through with you or the realtor.
Questions
Short answers
Can you clean the new place while we're still packing?
Yes, any day before the truck. Tell us when the keys come and we'll pick a day.
Do you work with senior communities and their move-in rules?
Yes. Send us the rules and we follow them, and the community's manager can call Fannie directly.
Does my parent need to be there?
Not if they'd rather not. A family member can hold the list, or Fannie can go through it with your parent by phone.
Two homes, one phone number.
Tell us the moving date and where you're going. Fannie will plan both cleans around it.
